The Doctor takes Clara and Courtney on a trip, where they arrive in 2049 on a Space Shuttle to the Moon with one hundred nuclear bombs. Noting the Moon's higher gravity and meeting Captain Lundvik, the Doctor questions her, where he's told that her team are on a suicide mission to blow up the Moon. A sudden mass high tide had threatened humanity's existence, the cause being the Moon. Their mission was the only way to save the planet. An astronaut prepares to prime the bombs, but is attacked by a spider-like creature. Colonists are found entombed in spider webs, and the Doctor finds through the readings that had previously been taken, noting an increase in the Moon's mass - the cause of the sudden tidal shift. Another spider attacks again, and the Doctor realizes that they are only germs. The Doctor determines that the Moon is an egg, with the creature inside ready to hatch. Lundvik recommends killing it, Clara disagrees and the Doctor abandons them forcing them to decide on their own. They call Earth's inhabitants to make the decision, receiving an unanimous vote to save the Earth first. Clara intervenes and stops the countdown that would trigger the bombs, and the Doctor returns, rescuing them from the Moon. From Earth, they watch the creature hatch and the shell disintegrate, with the creature laying a new egg as a new Moon. Clara angrily confronts the Doctor, claiming that it was his decision to make too, since Earth is important in his life as well. She leaves the TARDIS and the Doctor, to be comforted by Danny.
This episode was definitely better than the last one. The moon was an egg for crying out loud!! Plus there was bacteria spiders, which seem really cool. There were 2 deaths of unimportant people and the almost destruction of a race, the thing in the egg that looked like the bird creature from Avatar. I liked this one and hope that the next one will be good as well. I wonder what will happen with Clara . There is also the lady and the promise land that we still don't know that much about.
Sorry it was late. I've been busy with school and work.
